LO3 Imported footage/screenshots

The first screenshot is of the title screen. This is used to introduce the topic of what the documentary is going to be about. We have done this by splitting the video into three and the top and bottom box has been dimmed so that the middle box stands out far more that it would if it was left alone. Then a title box was added with the name of the person that this documentary is about. This is surrounded in a white box to make the title stand out. It is all in white to contrast with dark footage that is used in this scene. This title screen is used whilst there is a video of a landscape behind it. As well as introducing the subject of the documentary it also gives the whole documentary a more professional look  as if we didn't have a title page nobody would know what we were talking about. This is added by using the graphics page to apply it over the footage on premiere. This graphics page allows the editor to apply different kinds of graphics and styles onto the footage to make it look far better than what it would look like without.

In this screenshot the video seen above has been cut down so that just the talking of Beverley Allitt is seen and heard. This makes the whole video seem far more professional as it cuts out all the times that there is talking before and after the script. Another reason why the clips needed to be cut down is due to there being large pauses before and after speaking. So this needed to be cut down so that the clips flowed and there weren't any strangely long pauses in the middle of the documentary. Also so that the film flowed smoothly transitions were added so that it didn't cut in random spots of the documentary.

This screenshot depicts how the information on the screen will gradually fade in and out. This is done so that individuals can read the information displayed on the screen more slowly. To accomplish this, go to the graphics area and reduce the animation opacity until the text is no longer visible. When the video begins to play, steadily increase the volume to allow the text to fade in. There's also the position and anchor point, which can be changed to allow the text to move from the centre of the video to the left or right instead.
